SignalFire Wireless Telemetry's Tilt Scout for angle measurement is now Class 1, Division 1 approved for operation in hazardous environments. The latest member of the Scout family of Class 1, Division 1 integrated sensor nodes, the Tilt Scout combines an intrinsically safe wireless inclinometer with a 900mHz radio and antenna and an internal battery pack within a NEMA4X enclosure. The three-axis sensor detects the change in angle (movement) of an asset such as tank hatch position as part of a SignalFire Wireless Telemetry System. Designed for use in outdoor industrial applications, the Tilt Scout is also ideal for monitoring pump jack motion.
HARTING is making it easy to implement Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions with three HARTING MICA starter kits. Each of these new kits contains all of the necessary hardware and software for a basic application, removing the risk and guesswork for companies looking to embrace IIoT.
NewTek Sensor Solutions introduces the NT-C-6000 Quik-Cal LVDT Signal Conditioner that offers an intuitive AC LVDT set-up for quick configuration by non-technical personnel. Workers can set zero and full scale output using front panel push buttons while LED indicators provide prompts for the calibration process. Color-coded plug-in screw terminals further simplify equipment set-up. These smart signal conditioners even self-diagnose and indicate LVDT failure while providing cybersecurity lockout and tamper detection.
Bacharach, Inc., a provider of HVAC-R gas instrumentation, combustion analysis and energy management solutions, announces key product upgrades to the PCA 400 combustion and emissions analyzer platform including sensor protection, Low NOx measurement, near-field communications (NFC) and the ability to connect/control the analyzer with the newly released mobile app.
Rigaku Analytical Devices announces a new application study that describes the use of the handheld KT-100S laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) analyzer for positive material identification (PMI) and verification of metal alloys used in various industries, such as petrochemical, power generation, and aerospace.
Macurco has developed the new TracXP Wireless and Fixed Gas Transmitter product suite specifically for hazardous-location gas detection applications. The TracXP products include a comprehensive line of wired and wireless gas detection solutions to address special hazard applications including harsh industrial environments and hazardous locations. TracXP by Macurco also provides cellular and satellite options for remote toxic gas monitoring solutions in real time.
Sister companies AW-LAKE COMPANY and KEM Küppers Elektromechanik GmbH (KEM) announce the expansion of their TRICOR line of Coriolis Mass Flow Meters that now includes both standard and advanced flow meters and the addition of the TCD 9000 Series Transmitters that incorporate digital signal processing (DSP).
Bedrock Automation, maker of the Bedrock Open Secure Automation (OSA) system, has announced the availability of the fifth in its series of white papers supporting implementation of Open Secure Automation (OSA). The new whitepaper, Chapter Five: Industrial Control Systems Life Cycle Cost Analysis – Quantitative Evaluation, delineates 450 different factors that impact costs across the following six phases of the industrial control system (ICS) life cycle: engineering, installation, commissioning, maintenance, system and cyber security.
The E1500 Hand-Held Combustion Emissions Analyzer from E Instruments is a new, rugged unit with the ability to measure CO & O2 from high efficiency & condensing boilers, burners, engines, turbines, kilns, furnaces, incinerators and other industrial combustion processes. Featuring a new large COLOR display and expanded internal memory, the E1500 lets you easily see and save your sample data without worrying about running out of memory. The E1500 also features pre-calibrated, field replaceable sensors which allow for easy diagnostics and replacement to reduce "down-time" and costly repair charges.
Encoder specialist POSITAL has expanded its line of kit-style encoders for feedback for servo and stepper motors with new models that utilize the same mounting form factor as incremental kit encoders from US Digital, Broadcom and other manufacturers. This makes it very easy to upgrade a motion control application from incremental to absolute position control.
In launching the first Han-Smart modules, HARTING is bringing new, intelligent capabilities to the highly esteemed, customer configurable Han-Modular connector system. Until now, industrial connectors have been used exclusively as passive devices for carrying power, signal, data transmission and pneumatics - functions they continue to provide. However, with Han-Smart solutions, connectors can provide added value while beginning to evolve into active devices to serve the needs of future manufacturing. These three modules are just the beginning:
Engineers and operators responsible for accurately measuring gas production from digester tanks at municipal or industrial wastewater treatment operations can depend on the rugged ST100 Series Thermal Flow Meter from Fluid Components International (FCI) to provide precision mass flow measurement.
Halliburton has released the EarthStar ultra-deep resistivity service, a logging-while-drilling technology that helps operators map reservoir and fluid boundaries over 200 feet (61 meters) from the wellbore, more than doubling the depth of investigation of current industry offerings. The service delivers a comprehensive reservoir view so operators can eliminate costly pilot holes and sidetracks, make informed geosteering decisions in real-time and better plan future field development.
