Beginning March 1, 2018, Baldor Electric Canada, a member of the ABB group for more than seven years, will be known as ABB Motor and Mechanical (Canada) Inc.

Rolls-Royce acquires technology for electrically-assisted charging of off-highway combustion engines

Rolls-Royce has acquired from G+L innotec the exclusive rights of use for a new technology for the electrically-assisted charging of off-highway combustion engines in the power range above 450 kW. The new invention from the development and engineering services provider based in Laupheim in southern Germany is protected by patents and has thus not been available on the market to date. Rolls-Royce plans to offer engines of its MTU brand with this technology as of 2021.

Siemens launches new gas turbine for oil and gas uses

Using the combined expertise from its acquisitions of Dresser-Rand and Rolls-Royce Energy business, Siemens launches the latest evolution of its gas turbine portfolio – the SGT-A35 RB. The unit addresses the need for more cost-effective solutions for the offshore oil and gas industry by increasing the power density of the topside power generating equipment, thus reducing the required space claim. The lightweight, aeroderivative gas turbine can generate up to 38 megawatts (MW) and is integrated into a compact, lightweight Dresser-Rand package, which is up to 30 percent smaller and lighter than Industrial RB211 predecessors.

Rolls-Royce and MTU products to be presented at OTC

The MTU Series 4000 T95 Tier 4 final engine will be on display in the Rolls-Royce / MTU exhibit at OTC 2017.

Rolls-Royce will feature the latest technologies from MTU and Rolls-Royce on Booth #2261 for onshore and offshore oil and gas applications at the 2017 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) from May 1 – 4 at NRG Park in Houston, Texas. The exhibit will feature the MTU Series 4000 Bi-Fuel Kit, the 12V 4000 T95 EPA Tier 4 engine and advanced technology for next generation vessels from Rolls-Royce.
