Tyco Gas & Flame Detection now offers the new Oldham MX 32 alarm and control system. Designed to meet SIL1 requirements, the new MX 32 is a compact, low-profile controller that continuously monitors a wide range of gas detectors. The device uses the same platform as the MX 43 which has proven to be a very accurate and reliable controller.
Industrial maintenance technicians need to be extremely vigilant in inspecting gas systems to ensure they’re working to maximum capability. Without proper attention, the results can range from gas losses, gas purity issues and other safety concerns—including fire or asphyxiation. Spectroline PRO-Chek CG Combustible Gas Leak Detector (CG-1000) provides a safe and effective way to detect gas leaks in industrial systems.
Over 80,000 units of the Triple Plus + IR design are presently in use worldwide. The Triple Plus + IR is now offered along with the Triple Plus + which replaces the older Triple Plus now in production almost a total of 20 years. These users have come to depend on its robust and reliable performance. The extremely durable case and internal construction means it won't break when you drop it and resists shocks and vibrations. The unit offers UL, CSA, and numerous other approvals for use in hazardous areas, is water and dust resistant to IP65, and floats if it falls into water!
Endress+Hauser has released the Memograph M RSG45 Data Manager, a compact device that can serve as a data acquisition system for small process control applications. The RSG45 acquires up to 14 discrete and 20 universal/HART analog inputs from process sensors, displays sensor data on its 7-inch multicolor TFT screen, records the data internally, performs math calculations and alarm checks, and transmits the data to a PC or any control system via Ethernet, RS232/485, Modbus, Profibus DP or PROFINET digital communication links. Data can also be stored to a device plugged into the USB or the SD port.
Bedrock Automation has introduced a cyber secure, standalone Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for industrial control system applications. The Bedrock UPS.500 features powerful onboard electronics that enhance the performance advantages of lithium ion (Li-Ion) polymer battery technology, manage Bedrock’s patented deep authentication cyber protection and enable secure Ethernet communications. A sealed NEMA4x aluminum housing provides protection from cyber tampering and enables use amidst the most challenging field installations.
ABB’s Measurement & Analytics business announces the availability of a twelve-page leaflet that describes how the company's ProcessMaster electromagnetic flowmeter serves the demanding applications of the oil and gas industry. Early on the brochure lists the various oil and gas applications where ProcessMaster magmeters can effectively contribute. Mentioned are slurries, fluid mixtures, injection fluids, and wastewater. ProcessMaster magmeters also work well under harsh conditions involving heat, moisture, vibration, and explosive and corrosive atmospheres.
The new Wonderware Office Bundle from Schneider Electric Software streamlines the ability to access and interpret operations data, bringing “big data” benefits to a new set of users. The solution’s easy installation and native connectivity to plant floor and business applications enable management to easily create Key Performance Indicators by visualizing and analyzing data in near real time from a wide array of devices and sources.
Sirius Integrator is now a reseller of Acumentrics RP250, RP500, RP1000 and RP1500 solid oxide propane and natural gas fuel cell generators and services for all of North America. Sirius has been marketing fuel cell battery-charging systems for seven years to customers in North America. Acumentrics has deployed over 300 units to the field since 2011.
MSA’s ALTAIR 5X Multigas Detector for simultaneous detection of up to six gases offers a new PID (photoionization) sensor option.
Today oil and gas companies employ a variety of tools and techniques for managing the data and information that is used to build complex machines and systems. A single power generation turbine, for instance, can have upwards of 4,000 parts, many of them serialized.
ABB has introduced the TeleOS product line, a set of unlicensed band point-to-multipoint (PTMP) radios that provide power-efficient SCADA communications with I/O capabilities. Using TeleOS, upstream oil and gas companies can now bring modern wireless communications to off-grid well pads, reducing capital and operational expenses, helping maximize oil production efficiency, and enhancing environmental and worker safety.
The Z-Gard Product Line with an abundance of features like new combustible sensor, an updated calibration process, and a controller (CXII) with BACnet MS/TP have the versatility and flexibility to meet your gas detection needs.
July calls for “The Greatest Outdoor show on Earth” – the Calgary Stampede. With all the running, screaming and cheering that goes on during this 10-day event, the total physical output generated by organizers, players and animals would not equal the energy produced by five barrels of oil.
Baker Hughes has announced the commercial release of its TOPGUARD field amine measurement services, designed to help refiners manage corrosion risk by rapidly detecting low levels of monoethanolamine (MEA) in crude units. TOPGUARD services can detect and quantify MEA levels as low as 1 ppm.
