Seals for LNG production
John Crane announced today it has been awarded a significant new contract to supply engineered sealing technology solutions to a major Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production project in Australia, the largest of its kind in the world.
John Crane will supply 96 of its advanced Type 28 gas seals for first fit applications to a vendor which will provide compressors for the upstream section of the AP-LNG project in Queensland. This project will involve extracting and transporting coal seam gas for conversion into LNG in the future.
The order also includes the supply of 216 of John Crane’s tilting pad journal and double thrust hydrodynamic bearings. This highlights the diverse product range which is helping the company become the provider of choice for integrated rotating equipment solutions.
Paul Cox, President of John Crane, said: “This type of coal seam gas conversion is a relatively new process. The fact that we are able to supply advanced products that have already been thoroughly proven in use highlights the benefits of developing solutions that satisfy our customers’ future requirements as well as their current ones.”
