U.S. rigs decline for tenth week running; Canada adds again

Baker Hughes announced that the Baker Hughes Rig Count  for the U.S. is down 8 rigs from last week to 934, with oil rigs down 6 to 764, gas rigs down 2 to 169, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 1. This is the tenth straight week that the American rig count has declined, 

U.S. Rig Count is down 123 rigs from last year's count of 1,057, with oil rigs down 105, gas rigs down 17, and miscellaneous rigs down 1 to 1.

The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is up 1 rig to 25 and up 5 rigs year-over-year.

Baker Hughes Rig Count: Canada + 3 rigs to 140 rigs

Canada Rig Count is up 3 rigs from last week to 140, with oil rigs up 3 to 94 and gas rigs unchanged at 46. Canadian rig operators have seen an increase in working units for four weeks in a row, though the industry remains well behind on a year to year basis. Canada Rig Count is down 69 rigs from last year's count of 209, with oil rigs down 46 and gas rigs down 23.
