Trelleborg acquires Signum Technology, adding additional fluid handling options to product line
Trelleborg has also acquired subsidiary companies Gall Thomson, KLAW LNG, KLAW Products, and Vee Bee Filtration
Trelleborg has acquired engineering group Signum Technology Ltd and its subsidiary companies Gall Thomson, KLAW LNG, KLAW Products, and Vee Bee Filtration.
The acquisition of Signum, which provides safety-critical solutions for flow control applications, including Marine Breakaway Couplings (MBCs) and safety solutions for LNG transfer systems, adds a new level of functionality to Trelleborg's already extensive product portfolio and increases its service offering across its business units.
The move is part of Trelleborg's strategy to strengthen its position as a system provider in key oil and gas market segments, such as ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore LNG transfer.
Commenting on how the arrangement with Signum supports the service Trelleborg's Oil and Marine business unit provides its customers, director Vincent Lagarrigue said:
"By integrating Signum's market-leading technology with our own world-class product range, our customers now have access to an even wider spectrum of fully integrated and customizable solutions for crude oil, chemical and LNG/LPG offshore transfer applications."
Bill Hagenberg, president of Trelleborg's Fluid Handling Solutions business unit, added, "This acquisition is a bold step into the future and strengthens Trelleborg's market-leading position. Much like Trelleborg, Signum has a reputation for quality and innovation. Jointly, we can offer hose-based transfer solutions in demanding environments and build upon other synergies, such as our after-sales service, and sales and distribution provisions."
