Rig counts down again in North America, with U.S. oil rigs hit hardest
Baker Hughes reports another week of decline for rig counts in both the United States and Canada.
In the U.S., rigs are down 21 from last week to 318, with oil rigs down 21 to 237, gas rigs unchanged at 79, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 2.
The U.S. Rig Count is down 665 rigs from last year's count of 983, with oil rigs down 560, gas rigs down 107, and miscellaneous rigs up 2 to 2.
The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is unchanged at 12 and down 10 year-over-year.
In Canada, Baker Hughes reports a drop of 2 rigs from last week to 21, with oil rigs up 1 to 8 and gas rigs down 3 to 13.
Canada Rig Count is down 57 rigs from last year's count of 78, with oil rigs down 30 and gas rigs down 27.
