Baker Hughes' latest report shows little to no movement in rig count
Baker Hughes has released their latest rig count today, with the U.S. sector showing a minor bump in its numbers since last week's report, while the Canadian industry remained status quo.
The U.S. rig count is up 3 from last week to 323 with oil rigs up 5 to 246, gas rigs down 2 to 75, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 2. Overall, the U.S. rig count is down 476 rigs from last year's count of 799, with oil rigs down 417, gas rigs down 58 and miscellaneous rigs down 1.
The U.S. offshore rig count is up 1 to 13, down 9 year-over-year.
The Canada rig count is unchanged from last week at 102, with oil rigs up 2 to 40, gas rigs down 2 to 62. Overall, the Canada rig count is down 36 rigs from last year's count of 138, with oil rigs down 47, gas rigs up 11.
