Upward trend continues in latest Baker Hughes' report
Baker Hughes has released their latest rig report, with both the U.S. and Canadian industry seeing an uptick in their rig count numbers.
The U.S. rig count is up 5 from last week to 378 with oil rigs up 2 to 289, gas rigs up 3 to 88, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 1. Overall, the U.S. rig count is down 416 rigs from last year's count of 794, with oil rigs down 387, gas rigs down 27 and miscellaneous rigs down 2.
The U.S. offshore rig count is unchanged at 16, down 5 year-over-year.
The Canadian rig count is up 11 from last week to 172, with oil rigs up 6 to 96, gas rigs up 5 to 76. Overall, the Canadian rig count is down 72 rigs from last year's count of 244, with oil rigs down 58, gas rigs down 14.
