Baker Hughes rig report: U.S. industry rebounds while Canada remains mired in slump
Baker Hughes has released their latest rig report, with the U.S. industry seeing an uptick in their rig count numbers, while Canada's downward spiral continued.
The U.S. rig count is up 6 from last week at 417 with oil rigs up 6 to 324, gas rigs unchanged at 92, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 1. Overall, the U.S. rig count is down 311 rigs from last year's count of 728, with oil rigs down 300, gas rigs down 10 and miscellaneous rigs down 1.
The U.S. offshore rig count is down 1 to 12, down 6 year-over-year.
In Canada, the rig count is down 11 from last week to 81, with oil rigs down 10 to 31, gas rigs down 1 to 50. Overall, the Canadian rig count is up 27 rigs from last year's count of 54, with oil rigs up 13, gas rigs up 14.
North America SCHEDULE CHANGE: Due to Good Friday, Friday, April 2nd 2021 the weekly North America rig counts will be issued on Thursday 1st April 2021.
International SCHEDULE CHANGE: Due to Good Friday, Friday, April 2nd 2021 the International rig count, will be issued on Thursday April 1st 2021.
