Baker Hughes rig report: U.S. industry remains stable while Canada's slide continues
Baker Hughes has released their latest rig report, with the U.S. industry seeing a slight increase in their rig count numbers, while Canada's downward trend continued.
The U.S. rig count is up 2 from last week at 432 with oil rigs unchanged at 337, gas rigs up 2 to 93, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 2. Overall, the U.S. rig count is down 170 rigs from last year's count of 602, with oil rigs down 167, gas rigs down 3 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 2.
The U.S. offshore rig count is down 3 to 11, down 7 year-over-year.
In Canada, the rig count is down 11 from last week to 58, with oil rigs down 5 to 19, gas rigs down 6 to 39. Overall, Canada's rig count is up 23 rigs from last year's count of 35, with oil rigs up 13, gas rigs up 10.
