Baker Hughes rig report: U.S. industry shows stability while Canada continues to struggle
Baker Hughes has released their latest rig report, with the U.S. industry seeing a slight uptick in their rig count numbers for a third straight week, while Canada saw their numbers dip for an 8th straight week.
The U.S. rig count is up 2 from last week to 440 with oil rigs down 1 to 342, gas rigs up 2 to 96, and miscellaneous rigs up 1 to 2. The U.S. rig count is up 32 rigs from last year's count of 408, with oil rigs up 17, gas rigs up 15 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 2.
The U.S. offshore rig count is up 2 to 13, down 3 year-over-year.
In Canada, the rig count is down 4 from last week to 51, with oil rigs up 3 to 20, gas rigs down 7 to 31. The Canadian rig count is up 24 rigs from last year's count of 27, with oil rigs up 13, gas rigs up 11.
