UPS Plus includes 10-year-rated, high temperature batteries

Falcon Electric, Inc. hasannounced a new long-life battery in its SSG Series Industrial-Grade UPS Plus product line. For environments with temperatures that typically exceed 40 degrees C, the batteries are rated to last at least twice the service life of standard five-year/40 degree C rated batteries. The new batteries, which are optional on all Falcon UPSs, are rated for 10 years of expected life in a temperature-controlled environment (up to 25 degrees C). Also, because of its true regenerative on-line design, the SSG Series UPS is free from the “over-cycling” of batteries caused by the “buck-boost” feature of less-expensive “switching” or “line-interactive” UPSs. The SSG Series is the only UPS to carry a 55 degree C UL listing for operating at high temperatures.

POWER PROTECTION FOR SENSITIVE SCIENTIFIC/ LABORATORY APPLICATIONS

Falcon Electric, Inc. launched its FN Series family of parallel or N+1 redundant uninterruptible power supplies (UPSes) designed to meet the sensitive demands of laboratory equipment and associated computer networks with a scalable platform and N+1 redundancy. The new double-conversion, online-designed FN Series models achieve many technical milestones including a faster processor utilizing digital signal processing (DSP) technology, thereby improving performance, capability and reliability. The introduction of this new paralleled product family marks Falcon’s foray into larger UPS systems (up to 24kVA). The new hardwired FN Series UPS will be available in various model configura-tions. All models support a hardwire connection to any 208-240Vac single-phase, two-wire plus ground power source. Certain models provide a single, isolated 208-240Vac two-wire plus ground output; other models provide an isolated 240/120Vac split-phase three-wire-plus ground output. In contrast to the current parallel UPS solutionsoffered in the marketplace, Falcon’s innovative UPSes are stand-alone units that may be connected in parallel, providing low-cost, scalable solutions from 3kVA up to 24kVA. This approach eliminates the added expense of buying cabinets to house power and battery modules.
