QuestAir Technologies and ExxonMo-bil Research & Engineering Company (EMRE) announced that the QuestAir H-6200 Rapid Cycle Pressure Swing Adsorption (RCPSA) system has been selected by R&D Magazine as one of the 100 most technologically significant products introduced into the marketplace over the past year. “The H-6200 RCPSA has been developed through the extraordinary efforts of many people at both QuestAir and EMRE. The selection for the R&D 100 award recognizes the truly innovative impact of applying rapid cycle technology. We anticipate this product will help refineries address the growing demand for hydrogen,” said Jonathan Wilkinson, president & CEO of QuestAir Technologies. QuestAir has been working with EMRE since 2003 to develop the QuestAir H-6200 RCPSA for use in oil refineries and petrochemical plants. This product combines novel structured adsorbents and rotary valves, which together allow the QuestAir H-6200 to process gases at a much faster rate than conventional products. The resulting rapid cycle PSA is significantly smaller than a conventional PSA and is anticipated to offer advantages relative to other hydrogen recovery options including lower total erected costs, superior recovery performance and improved operability.
