Flowserve Corporation has announced the successful completion of full load performance testing of a 6.6 kV, 3.5 MW, high-torque subsea electric motor. This 4-pole motor is one of the world's largest oil-filled motors designed for subsea applications. The Flowserve facility in Hamburg, Germany, engineered and built the motor using the combined technology of the Flowserve Pleuger and Byron Jackson brand submersible designs. The high-power motor is designed to enable the oil and gas industry to produce ultra-deep subsea fields and is part of a larger technology advancement initiative to develop high-pressure multiphase boosting for subsea applications.
The new Flowserve Automax RG Series Heavy-Duty Scotch Yoke Pneumatic Actuator. offers customers the opportunity to realize savings through an extended cycle life and reduced maintenance costs. Most importantly, plant and personnel safety is enhanced due to the RG’s design, which is compliant to IEC 61508 (Functional Safety Related Systems) Safety Integrity Level 3. This Safety Standard emphasizes that the quality and reliability of the equipment forming the safety system are key to the prevention of failure.
The GTSP high-temperature pump gas seal increases equipment reliability and reduces energy consumption for the hottest process pumps in refinery and hydrocarbon facilities. Using Flowserve’s exclusive bidirectional wavy face topography, GTSP seals are pressurized with dry steam or nitrogen. Laser-applied wavy face technology creates a gas-film barrier between the seal faces to eliminate seal face wear, minimize fouling, increase long-term equipment reliability, and lower gas consumption. Easier to install and maintain than liquid barrier seals, wavy-face GTSP gas seals eliminate the energy requirements from circulating, cooling and churning a liquid barrier, and create significantly less heat generation and torque at the seal faces. Sinusoidal waves allow bi-directional operation to simplify installation on double-ended pumps, while the smooth-wave texture is self-cleaning to resist contamination. Alloy 718 welded metal bellows assembly construction offers high resistance to stress corrosion cracking in high-temperature, sulphuric-laden services.
Flowserve ValveAn-alysis is a plugin for Emerson Process Management’s AMS Suite of asset management tools that enables AMS users to run diagnostic signatures for Flowserve valves, actuators and positioners, providing key information that can be used to maximize equipment performance. Adding informative diagnostic signatures to the calibration and alarm functions already found in AMS, Flowserve ValveAnalysis allows users to increase the flexibility of their Emerson system and preserve the value of their Flowserve equipment base. ValveAnalysis integrates with the Flowserve Logix 520si and 3200IQ HART positioners.
