Sense up to seven gases with multi-gas detector

Dräger announced the release of its X-am 8000 to the US and Canada markets. The multi-gas detector can simultaneously detect up to seven gases including flammable gases, vapors, and oxygen and is applicable to a number of industries including chemical, oil and gas, fire services, mining, shipping, pharmaceutical and water treatment.

Portable single gas monitor

The X-am 5100 was specifically developed for the detection of hydrogen fluoride (HF), hydrogen chloride (HCI), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), and hydrazine (N2H4) reactive gases. The X-am 5100 is particularly suited to applications such as monitoring alkylation units in the petrochemical industry, checking HF during the injection process for the extraction of crude oil, testing H2O2 during the bleaching process in pulp and paper production, monitoring sterilization units used in the medical field, and monitoring hydrazine used for propulsion.

Gas detection app for Apple devices

Draeger Safety Inc. is introducing the new Draeger Gas Detection App for Apple mobile devices including the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. This breakthrough application provides a general overview of gas and vapor measurement technology. It includes the basic principles of the Draeger-Tubes and Chip Measurement Systems (CMS), portable gas monitors and sensors, including the relevant measurement parameters.


Draeger Safety, Inc. introduces a NIOSH approved 15-minute, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus(SCBA) for emergency entry or escape in potentially hazardous environments. This new unit combines versatility, ease of use and the latest in breathing apparatus design. Equipped with the optional Supplied Airline Respirator attachment the Micro can be configured for up to 300 feet or 12 hose length sections from the air source. This back mounted unit, uses a similar carrying system as a traditional SCBA harness design and ergonomically follows the natural contours of the wearer’s back for comfort and stability during use.
